Washing-grade Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC), as a capable assistant in the washing industry, plays a significant role that cannot be underestimated. It can dissolve in water to form a transparent gel-like liquid and is relatively stable to light and heat.

 

CMC mainly utilizes its properties of emulsification and protective colloid. During the washing process, the generated anions can make both the object to be washed and the dirt particles carry a negative charge, causing the dirt particles in the aqueous phase to repel the surface of the solid object to be washed. In this way, it prevents the dirt from redepositing on the object to be washed, making white fabrics as white as new and colored fabrics retain their bright colors. For example, when washing cotton clothes, even if the water quality is hard, the detergent with CMC added can keep the clothes in their original color and softness.

 

The washing-grade CMC also has an auxiliary washing function. It can stabilize the foam, save the washing time, and enable the washing liquid to be reused. In the paste-like detergent, it can prevent the detergent from precipitating and ensure the stable quality of the product. Its dosage generally accounts for 1 - 4% of the detergent. When using it, add it together with other auxiliaries into the synthetic detergent monomer slurry, and then make the product through processes such as spray drying. With its excellent performance, CMC has become the key to improving the cleaning and color protection effects in the washing industry.

 

Washing-grade CMC can be called the invisible "cleaning and protecting master" for many reasons. On the one hand, its emulsification and protective colloid properties are its core advantages. By making the object to be washed and the dirt particles carry the same negative charge, it skillfully uses the principle of charge repulsion to effectively prevent the dirt from returning to the fabric. Whether it is white cotton cloth or colorful silk satin, it can maintain cleanliness and luster, safeguarding the original appearance of the clothes from the source. On the other hand, its auxiliary washing function shines brightly. The stable foam accelerates the decontamination process, greatly saving manpower and time, and also enables the washing liquid to be recycled, which is in line with the concept of environmental protection. In the paste-like detergent, it acts as a "stabilizer" to avoid precipitation and ensure the consistent high quality of the product. With only an addition amount of 1 - 4%, it can be seamlessly integrated into the production process, leveraging a small proportion to bring about a great transformation in washing and providing all-round protection for the cleaning and color protection of clothes.
